Happy Mother's Day!

Wow, it's my first real Mother's Day!  How exciting!

Technically, today wasn't a very exciting day.  In fact, it was a very ordinary day with one exception...I had a lot of free time for myself!  It's been so long since I've had a free moment to do whatever I want...

I woke up really early this morning because Ellie was hungry.  After I fed her and put her down IN HER OWN CRIB (Yay!) I sat down and worked on my computer while both Ellie and Jason slept.  Other than the occasional feed, I was pretty much undisturbed all morning and afternoon.  It felt really good to be able to do something other than hold Ellie or feed her or change her.

Even after Jason woke up at 1:30pm, Ellie stayed asleep and for quite a while too.  She was pretty good when she was awake and we were playing together.  Of course as soon as it began to get dark outside, she began her fussy hours but lucky me, Jason helped calm her down so I can enjoy my day a little longer.

Ah, I like Mother's Day....

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's and grandma's and soon-to-be mom's!

Xanga or wordpress?

Trying to decide if I should move my blog from xanga to wordpress. It's hard since I've been with Xanga for 6 years now and it's a relatively easy to use blogging platform.

On the other hand, I have my own hosted site with wordpress that's just sitting there waiting for me to update. It was originally meant to be a hamster blog but given how little time I have these days, I'm thinking of combining the two.

 Hmm, xanga or wordpress...

For now I'll just use posterous to post to both sites until I make up my mind.

Meet Ellie!

Ellie Gong....born March 4th, 2009 at 3:13pm after being in labor for eternity.....she weighed 2.75kg at birth.  Both Jason and I are super exhausted, especially since our first night with her was spent trying to make her stop crying as soon as we put her down.  I'm still in pain from the labor so hopefully I've recovered a bit more by the time we get discharged from the hospital.

Going to be a long day

Contractions are disappearing...Is that possible?
Tried sleeping a little but having a hard time...
I'm guessing I have to be close to 3cm now since the catheter is starting to fall out...
Feeling hungry but the hospital doesn't want me to eat till after the delivery...
Baby still moving a lot...
They're going to start me on the drip in a few hours. Let's hope that'll help and won't be too painful.
Today's going to be a very long day.
